Michelle drew up a personalised training plan for me incorporating elements of cross training that fitted around my busy family life. Cordula HurcumHaving taken up running and spotted as having potential following my first half marathon in 2013, Michelle drew up a personalised training plan for me incorporating elements of cross-training that fitted around my busy family life. Training culminated in the 2014 Bath Half Marathon where I succeeded in knocking 5 minutes off my PB!
Following this, I used my endurance base to focus on shorter distance races for which Michelle provided me with specific speed sessions. I ran the 3000m at the 2014 Wiltshire Track & Field Championships where I won a Gold Medal in the Senior Ladies Category!
After time out due to injury, I set myself as next challenge to compete in the 2016 London Marathon. Once again, Michelle created a my personalised training plan incorporating cross-training and core strength to get me into race shape and improve my endurance. I’m very pleased that I achieved my goal and a championship qualifying time for next year’s race. I greatly value Michelle’s expertise and support and look forward to working with her in the future.

I had broken my PB at every single distance I’d raced, from 5k to marathon, which was 14 minutes quicker than before I’d met Michelle! Paul GilhamMichelle started helping me after my first marathon, offering simple advice about injury prevention. Before too long she had written a training schedule and was taking me on race-specific training runs. This, in conjunction with specialised speed-work and tapering advice led to a new marathon PB by seven minutes.
My next marathon was preceded by an eighteen week program with target races and marathon specific sessions. Between Christmas and the end of that London race, I had broken my PB at every single distance I’d raced, from 5k to marathon, which was 14 minutes quicker than before I’d met Michelle!
Running down the ironman carpet was a dream come true and to do it quicker than I ever thought possible 6:42, let alone complete it, and it was all down to Maxwell Coaching… Lisa AdamsIn 2011 I suffered a serious spine and knee injury during a rugby tackle. After facing several rounds of surgery and a long and problematic recovery, I was faced with the likelihood my participation in any physical activity would be limited. However I was fortunate enough to find a great Physio who worked miracles with my recovery and in 2015 we decided it was time to set a challenge. Nearly 4 years post accident I entered the Staffordshire 70.3 Ironman! My Professor thought I was crazy and warned me to go careful. Early 2016 I was in so much pain and it was looking unlikely I would be able to complete the challenge. I realised I needed help and Maxwell Coaching was recommended to me. I contacted Chris and Michelle, they agreed the challenge was a bit mad but not necessarily impossible! I knew I had the right people on board to help me complete my journey!
I received a training programme which accommodated all my needs (pain/children/full-time job) it was great to follow a structured programme that was specifically designed for me and my challenge. On top of this I received 1:1 run coaching with Michelle. Our sessions transformed the way I run and thought about running. I made rapid improvements and achieved a number of PBs over various distances. The most noticeable thing was Michelle gave me confidence and in turn I have dropped 2 minutes a mile…Amazing!
Race day: I woke up feeling so nervous I couldn’t eat without vomiting. I hit the water and went calm and trusted my training. I smiled the whole way around the 70.3 and felt privileged to be a part of such an event. Running down the ironman carpet was a dream come true and to do it quicker than I ever thought possible 6:42, let alone complete it, and it was all down to Maxwell Coaching. They made me feel a part of a team and it has given me the confidence to go on and look for a new challenge! I will always be truly grateful and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!
Michelle has been coaching me over the last few years, giving me the confidence and support I needed to help me achieve my running goals. Since starting with Michelle I have completed 2 marathons both with a time to qualify for a good for age place in London, I have also ran for Wiltshire in the cross country championships as well as many half marathons, 5 and 10ks.
I would highly recommend Michelle for whatever running goals you are trying to achieve. Tess Warnes
Michelle’s extensive experience and knowledge meant she provided detailed training plans tailed specifically to my needs and adjusted regularly to ensure I am achieving my maximum potential. I would highly recommend Michelle for whatever running goals you are trying to achieve.

I first joined Chippenham Harriers many years ago and Michelle led the speed sessions. I then had children and did less running. Since returning to running I entered a few events, including the London Marathon 2015.
I qualified for a Championship place for London and hoped to complete in 3hr 15 min. Michelle put a training programme together for me which fitted around family life with 3 children. Her programme was excellent, really clear and easy to follow. Michelle’s guidance prevented me getting injured too with appropriate speed, distances, emotional support and tapering along the way.

This was important to me and Michelle had carefully taken personal factors in to consideration. Michelle’s coaching helped me smash my pb for a half marathon and I finished London Marathon in 3:04 taking 10 minutes off my target. I can’t recommend Michelle highly enough, if you want to achieve your personal goal at any level.

My decision to engage Maxwell coaching was based on their partnership venture and experience with Michelle’s running and Chris’ Triathlon. I find their analytical approach to training sessions rewarding and easy to follow. Their attention to detail is second to none and its reassuring to know that the research has gone into every single training session that is set.
I received an initial training plan on an easy to follow online system with the ability to feedback information two-ways on a daily basis. I have received feedback on my nutrition and my own personal health in addition to scheduled and detailed training sessions. Michelle has a caring approach towards my goals and personal well-being which is motivating. I find they both understand my personal circumstances with the children. We work around these hurdles together. The Maxwells live and breathe a “can do” attitude which does make you try harder to achieve the goals which have been put in place.

I also PB’d on both my runs on my recent Castle Combe Duathlon by over a minute on each. This was as a result of specific speed and cross training, and 1:1 run/bike sessions designed around my personal needs. I am looking forward to my first triathlon season this year, and hopefully getting the results that reflect the effort I put in.

Although I was running short distances regularly, I needed a plan and support if I was to run the London marathon in a reasonable time and without injury.
Michelle provided me with not only a plan but support as the training went on, race tactics as the miles increased and nutritional advice Jayne HowellsMy initial aim was 4:30. Michelle provided me with not only a plan but support as the training went on, race tactics as the miles increased and nutritional advice.
I finished the race in 3:52 which was good for age and I know that this was largely due to the plan and support provided by Michelle.

I started running in 2011 as I wanted to lose a few pounds. As the running increased I found I’d caught the running bug!!
I have always enjoyed a challenge and looked into joining a running club. After progressing through a beginner program I met Michelle who not only help me improve my running technique (helium balloons) she also gave me the confidence to push myself.
I’m the kind of guy who needs a kick up the bum at times and Michelle was always honest, approachable, helpful and caring. Chris ScothernIn the space of a year I had knocked huge amounts off my PBs. I joined the Chippenham Harriers a few years ago which gave me confidence to run. Michelle, however, gave me the confidence to believe in myself and my running abilities. She worked with me to design a half marathon training plan that suited me personally. Michelle gave me support and advise, throughout helping me, to not only achieve the goal I set but to smash it.
Michelle gave me the confidence to believe in myself and my running abilities Nicky FinchFollowing the Half Marathon, Michelle designed a full Marathon training plan, personalised for me including the races that I had booked. During this training plan I achieved a 5 minute PB for my 10k and equalled my half marathon. I couldn’t be happier, the plans are well structured and easy to follow. I highly recommend Michelle to help you achieve you running goals.
